Bomberman Classic - Unity Recreation

About the Game

This is a Unity recreation of the classic Bomberman game, developed as part of my game programming coursework and personal learning journey. The project combines knowledge from online tutorials, programming classes, and self-study to recreate the nostalgic gameplay that defined my childhood gaming experiences.

Gameplay Features

• Always 4 Players: Every match features 4 total players
• Flexible Multiplayer: Choose how many human players (1-4) in the main menu
• AI Opponents: Any slots not filled by humans become AI-controlled players
• Classic Bomberman Action: Place bombs, destroy blocks, and outsmart opponents
• Item Customization: When choosing 2+ human players, you can select which power-ups appear in the game
  

Controls

• Player 1: WASD to move, Shift-left to place bomb

• Additional Players:
• Player 2: arrows to move, Shift-right to place bomb
• Player 3: 8456 to move, 0 to place bomb
• Player 4: IJKL to move, Space to place bomb

Menu System

• Main Menu: Player selection, item customization, and game settings
• Pause Menu: Resume, restart, or return to main menu during gameplay
• End Game Screen: Victory/defeat results with play again options

Current Power-ups

✅ Implemented Items:

• Blast Radius: Increases explosion range
• Extra Bomb: Allows placing more bombs simultaneously
• Kick Bomb: Push bombs until they hit obstacles
• Speed Boost: Increases movement speed

Advanced Mechanics

• Chain Reactions: Bombs caught in explosions detonate immediately
• Strategic Destruction: Break blocks to reveal power-ups
• AI Bots: Computer players
